Annual Faculty Academy

The Annual Faculty Academy is usually scheduled for Early to Mid Summer. Please check back for details which are posted each spring.

This two-day seminar of lectures and labs covers the future of the irrigation industry, and topics such as Anatomy of a Sprinkler System, Efficiency/Uniformity Models, Hydraulics, Electrical Considerations, Irrigation Scheduling, and Careers in Irrigation. Faculty Academy instructors introduce Teaching Modules developed for the IAEF to promote best practices in irrigation in the classroom. The Academy has become a "must attend" session for instructors who understand the growing industry demand for irrigation-trained students.  For information on future Irrigation Faculty Academies, contact the IAEF at iaef@iaef.org or 703-536-7080 and ask for the IAEF director.

"Absolutely the best faculty-geared conference I have ever attended!" *

Frequently the IAEF hears instructors say they taught themselves irrigation through books or by contacting local contractors and/or distributors. We feel that it is important to invest time and energy to provide education and networking opportunities for instructors involved in academic institutions who are teaching the future leaders of the irrigation industry. From this belief the Irrigation Faculty Academy was created....

The goals of the IAEF Irrigation Faculty Academy are to educate faculty, using hands-on techniques, basic irrigation concepts, create awareness of IA educational resources available, introduce the concept of the IAEF, utilize feedback from faculty to begin the development of IAEF programs and create relationships with faculty and schools.

* Here’s what other instructors say about the faculty academy:

"Well Done! This was the most subject-specific learning opportunity I’ve experiences.” --- “Excellent event. Exceeded my expectations!” --- “This was my first academy and it was great. Irrigation is a broad subject and it’s hard to fit everything in one semester. This academy really helped me figure out what was important for a basic irrigation program”—“Incredible! Sorry I missed the first two but hope to attend future ones."

Join the IAEF at the next Faculty Academy and strengthen your irrigation knowledge and meet faculty from across the country who share your common interest - educating the future of the Green and Agriculture Industries. The Academy is free to participants who are responsible for travel and hotel expenses only. For more information - email iaef@iaef.org
